How to Obtain a Broker's License
For a Salesperson to obtain their Broker's License, the following criteria must be met before they can take their Broker Exam:
Must have Salesperson License for at least two years.
Must complete the following statutorily required college-level courses:
Real Estate Practice
Legal Aspects of Real Estate
Real Estate Finance
Real Estate Appraisal
Real Estate Economics or Accounting
And three* courses from the following group:
Real Estate Principles
Business Law
Property Management
Real Estate Office Administration
Escrows
Mortgage Loan Brokering and Lending
Advanced Legal Aspects of Real Estate
Advanced Real Estate Finance
Advanced Real Estate Appraisal
Applicants who complete the above statutorily required college-level courses are eligible to take the salesperson examination without providing further evidence of education or experience.
NOTE:
Requirements for renewing a Brokers License are the same as a Salespersons 45-Hour Renewal.
*If applicant completes both Accounting and Real Estate Economics, only two courses from group (f) are required.
