In order to qualify for Honorary Member at Pacific West Association of REALTORS®, one must meet certain requirements such as:
- Must be a Member in GOOD Standing at time of Application
- Must be 75 years or older
- Must have served a minimum of 25 years in a Board / Association

Any person who has held membership in the National Association as a REALTOR®, REALTOR-ASSOCIATE®, or a combination of both, for a cumulative period of 40 years in one or more Associations of REALTORS® is eligible for REALTOR® Emeritus status.
Upon approval by the Board of Directors of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®, no further payment of dues is necessary to the National Association by the Member Association of which the REALTOR® Emeritus is a member.
A standard certification form (provided by NAR) is necessary to begin the approval process for a REALTOR® Emeritus candidate, which is to be filled out by the local Association. Any available documentation that would provide reasonable substantiation of 40 years' membership should be attached to the form when it is returned to the National Association.
- 25 years C.A.R. membership
- 75 years of age (or older)
Notes: Applicant must complete Honorary Member- For- Life application. Requires approval of the C.A.R. Membership Committee and Board of Directors at one of the 3 annual meetings (Jan/June/Oct). C.A.R. must receive the application 15 days prior to one of the 3 months listed to be effective (if approved for the following year.

- A real estate licensee (salesperson/broker in good standing for 30 continuous years in California. Licensee must have been in good standing and hold an active license which has not been suspended, revoked, or restricted as a result of disciplinary action.
- 70 years of age (or older)
Notes: DRE requires that form “RE213 Continuing Education Extension/Exemption Request” and Renewal Application & fee be submitted to DRE prior to the licensee’s expiration date.
Important Note: Honorary membership status at C.A.R. does not automatically extend to Pacific West membership. Specific criteria and approval must be met at each level of the organization in order for the waiver of dues to apply.
